Description
The Copersucar Fittipaldi FA5 was a Formula One car for the 1978 Formula One season and part of the 1979 season.
It was driven by Brazilian Emerson Fittipaldi and is was the sole driver of the car in all two seasons.
The car was succeeded by the Copersucar Fittipaldi F6.
Fittipaldi Automotive was a Brazilian Formula 1 team founded in 1975 by Wilson Fittipaldi, Emerson’s older brother, under the name Copersucar-Fittipaldi.
The team was renamed “Fittipaldi Automotive” in 1978.
Under these different names, the team participated in the Formula 1 world championship from 1975 to 1982, competing in a total of 103 Grands Prix.
She scored 44 points and won three podiums (Emerson Fittipaldi: second in Brazil in 1978 and third in Argentina and the United States West in 1980).
The best ranking achieved in the manufacturer’s championship was seventh place in 1978.
